Good Quote by Eugene Peterson

""If I, even for a moment, accept my culture's definition of me, I am rendered harmless."
Eugene H. Peterson, The Contemplative Pastor

When I read this something settled in me. The funny thing is that so many of my good friends have been saying basically the same thing for years - I think it just clicked - again. Strange how something can click one minute then need to click again a few months down the road. I'm totally into this book that Eugene Peterson has written, Dan had read it about 4 years ago during our internship, but I just picked it up for the first time a few weeks ago. I'm slowly savouring it. Eugene Peterson is such an amazing writter! His words are like poetry! I love what he says about having a sense of place, about Christianity being subversive - anyway, read it - its a great book!
